Bomb Blasts In China Kill 7, Injures 50

Officials have reported 7 people killed and several others injured in southern Chinese town of Liucheng , following a series of bomb attacks within the territory on Thursday, October 1.

Aljazeera reports that the series of attacks on hospitals, banks and other sites in Guangxi region killed at least seven people and wounded more than 50 others.
According to Chinese police, the blasts were part of a “revenge” campaign, not a “terrorist act”.
Authorities said that a 33-year-old local suspect had been arrested, however, there are no immediate explanation regarding a possible motive.
A report by China National Radio’s blog site CRI, stated that  the blast which went off on in a six-storey building near a local highway administrative bureau in Liucheng, caused some damage but left no one injured.
It is noted that there were several bombs in express delivery packages went off earlier on Wednesday, September 30.
The bombs went-off at multiple locations in Liucheng county, some of the places affected  includes government offices, a prison, a train station and a shopping centre among others.
In recent years, there have been several of such attacks orchestrated by aggrieved Chinese citizens who use the bombings as a means to gain attention to their grievances.
Most of the recent bombings have been focused on local government offices and public places.
In 2013, one person was killed and eight others were injured as a man set off a series of home-made bombs packed with ball bearings, just outside a provincial government headquarters in northern China.
