Egypt security service operatives have mistaken tourists for terrorists
Egyptian security forces killed 12 tourists and injured 10 more, mistaking a tourist group for terrorist group. Egyptian state officials claim that this horrendous incident happened because the tourist group was in automobiles not authorized for the trip within a so-called restricted area, where only groups with the official permit can travel safely.
But the boss of the tour guides union, Hassan El-Nahla, insists this is a lie.
He told the press that “the tour company is licensed. They had the tourism police notification. The police representative inspected all car licenses before leaving the hotel in Cairo in the morning and heading towards the oases.”
Two of those killed and six injured were Mexicans while other victims were Egyptians.
Those survived in the attack say that they were bombed from an airplane and helicopters, and then transported by military vehicles and ambulances to the hospital.
