Prior to PVRs, Internet and the
over flow of drama series to pick from, once upon a time, "Papa Ajasco"
was a necessary entertainment staple for almost every home back in the
90s.
The hilarious series formerly called ‘The Ajasco Family” was birth by popular TV series producer Wale Adenuga.
The show focuses on the Ajasco family and follows the shenanigans of
Papa Ajasco, Mama Ajasco and Ajaso as well as their neighbours and
friends including Boy Alinco, Ms Pepeye and Pa James.
Papa Ajasco was known
for his signature fashion statement which saw him wearing a shirt and
tie with a wrapper instead of trousers.
Today the show is now known as “Papa Ajasco & Company”.
The show has won several awards including National Institute of
Marketing's 'Best Marketed TV Comedy' (2005), NTA Awards for 'Best
Entertainment Programme' (2002), TV Programme of the Year at the City
People Awards for Excellence (2008).
