All roads in the ancient city of Ibadan led to the Trans
Amusement Park, Samonda, the venue of Nigeria’s biggest music concert,
Star Music Trek.
The Ibadan leg of the nationwide concert was one of the biggest music
highlights of the year as top musicians descended on the #IbadanRocks
stage for a night of entertainment.
Over 10,000 fans were thrilled by performances from their beloved stars at the Star lager sponsored show.
One of the highlights of the night was Wande Coal’s performance. The
Black Diamond took fans down memory lane with hits from the old Mo’Hits
such as Pere, Bumper To Bumper, Close To You, and Been Long You Saw Me.
He also performed some recent hits: My Woman, My Everything as well as
Asimapeyin.
Pasuma was a perfect match for the Ibadan crowd as they connected to his fuji music. He had one of the best sets of the show.
Starboy, Wizkid went a step further when he sprayed money into the crowd
during his set. He churned out a brilliant performance from his hits
like, Caro, In My Bed and of course, Ojuelegba.
Chidinma warmed the hearts of the cheering fans with her lovely voice as she performed ‘Ololufe’, ‘Kedike’ and others.
Sound Sultan was on stage with the rest of his Naija Ninja crew. He
dished out some of his old hits like Jagbajantis, Ole, Area and more
recent ones like Natural Something and Kokose.
Other performers included Presh, Base One, Yung GreyC, May D, Joe EL, Pepenazi amomg others.
Gbenga Adeyinka was the host of the night with DJ Xclusive and DJ Nana were on the turntable.
The nationwide tour which has thrilled Nigerian music fans for nearly
two decades has a tradition of bringing the country’s biggest artists
together to thrill fans around the country. This year’s theme My
Superstar Story aims to inspire the youth to view their situations as a
work in progress and to always keep their goals in mind.
